For grown-ups
  • Level 1 · Notice & Name: notice one clear feeling, point to a body or face clue, name it, and choose one simple support.
  • Level 2 · Cause & Response: connect the feeling to what happened and practise one useful next action.
  • Level 3 · Understand & Regulate: compare clues, choose a strategy, and begin considering another person's perspective.
  • Level 4 · Nuance & Perspective: hold mixed or persistent feelings, consider context and consequences, and avoid forcing a feeling to disappear.
More for parents & educators

Practice level is not an age band. A child may use Level 1 for a new feeling and Level 4 for a familiar one. Posters are unique to a level. Feeling Heroes are hand-tagged as book + one primary feeling + one level + one teaching target; the same book may be reused only when the teaching target truly changes.
